Job Description

The Senior SQL Database & Report Developer is responsible for design and development of Business Intelligence and reporting solutions. The ability to troubleshoot performance problems and data issues is required.  Candidate should have excellent communication skills.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•          Designs and develops reporting applications required to meet the diverse needs of LPL's business applications

•          Works closely with other development teams and the Production Services Database Administrators

•          Provide expertise on data quality, data migration, data security, metadata, data architecture and information lifecycle

•          Design and develop reporting and analytical applications for both financial advisors and internal corporate staff

•          Design and develop database schema, functions, tables, stored procedures, and ETL

•          Develop creative solutions and write technical design based on the requirements

•          Assist in tuning and optimization.

•          Develop and execute unit tests for product components

•          Perform peer code reviews and provide feedback

•          Promote high quality, scalability, and timely completion of projects

•          Modify existing databases, as user needs change

 

 

Must have technical skills/experience:

•          Minimum of 5 years' experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

•          Minimum of 5 years' experience in Database Development utilizing SQL Server 2000/SQL Server 2005 and/or SQL Server 2008.

•          Proven track record of experience developing stored procedures, tables, views, and functions (writing code).

•          Detailed understanding and experience with SSIS and SSAS

•          Proven experience designing and deploying production quality SQL Server databases and code.

 

 

Ideal candidates will possess:

•          Candidate will be a results oriented creative/strategic thinker with leadership skills; analytical with attention to detail, excellent organization and time management skills; and strong oral and written communication skills.

•          Prior experience working with end users.

•          Prior experience with both OLAP & OLTP databases

•          Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment a plus.

 

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) from four-year College or University; or minimum 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
